THE FRESH BLOOD PROJECT IS BACK
**Tickets will only be available from this page until NOON ON NOVEMBER 17. Contact me directly to get tickets after the cutoff, or simply pay at the door**

Join us on Friday, November 17 at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church for an unforgettable evening of new music for percussion. See the premieres of new works by Steph Davis, Kiara Nathaniel, and Rebeka Schroeder. The music will be played by Caroline Bucher, Brooke Boileau, Maggie Koreen, and Cameron Denby.
Although the Fresh Blood Project is a collaboration between composers and percussionists, each instalment of the project has featured a different approach to percussion writing. In 2019, the stage was overflowing with all sorts of instruments, from brake drums and duck calls to marimbas and vibraphones. When the project returned in 2021, the program was entirely music for marimba/vibraphone quartet. Last year's concert was all music for small, accessible, and portable instrumentation. This year, the new compositions will be for two players sharing one marimba. With help from the Manitoba Arts Council, three composers (Davis, Nathaniel, Shroeder) have been commissioned to each compose a piece for the project.
Fresh Blood Project 4 is especially exciting because it will feature the Overtonic Trio, who have just returned from a Western-Canadian tour from Winnipeg to Dawson City. Their unique and exciting sound will be a beautiful complement to the new pieces for marimba duet. They will be performing a combination of original works and adaptations of other contemporary compositions.
Fresh Blood Project 4 is proudly supported by Michael Nesbitt, the Crescent Arts Centre, and the Manitoba Arts Council.
